The IAEE and COSMOS have formed a Joint International Strong Motion Committee (ISCM). Terms of reference for the ISMC were developed and provided to the IAEE president, and the joint committee was officially approved in November 2016. The first meeting of this committee took place at a sepcial session of the 16th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering (16WCEE) in Santiago, Chile, on January 13th, 2017.
