Workshop: COSMOS International Guidelines on the Use of Noninvasive Geophysical Techniques for Characterizing Seismic Site Conditions

The Guidelines Workshop will be held during the 2016 35th ESC General Assembly (http://www.35esc2016.eu) in Trieste, Italy.  In addition to attending the Workshop, we also encourage you to attend the ESC Special Session “01: Advances in noninvasive approaches to characterizing seismic site conditions (Joint ESC-SSA session)” (http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/esc2016/sessionprogramme) on Wednesday 7 September 2016, which was coordinated with the planned COSMOS Guidelines Workshop.

The preliminary agenda for the estimated 2-hour Guidelines Workshop includes reports/discussions about:

(1.1) Evolving the “finalized" Table of Contents—limited; commensurate with (1.2) and other factors;

(1.2) Progress of the template chapter (see 2.1.2 below), as well as other guideline sections (standardized abbreviation table, etc.);

(1.3) Establishing subcommittees consisting of lead- and co-authors for each method or topic-based chapter;

(1.4) Developing standardized or customized section(s) within each method-based chapter on modeling (inversions);

(1.5) Prospects of funding support for travel and workshop related costs;

(1.6) Next steps…
